Jens Machacek is the inventor of WINSOLE cycling shoe insoles and is an internationally recognised expert in the field of cycling biometrics/bike fitting, bike ergonomics, sports biomechanics and the construction of insoles.

Thanks to his training as an orthopaedic shoemaker and as the holder of numerous patents, he has acquired the status of a global expert in these fields over the years. The WINSOLE cycling insole was invented thanks to years of cooperation with the national track cycling team and the FES (Forschungs- und Entwicklungszentrum für Sportgeräte Berlin – “Research and Development Centre for Sports Equipment in Berlin”) and the resulting findings. The design of the Winsole had already been completed years before the London 2012 Summer Olympics, but was further refined and optimised through collaboration with the FES. This resulted in a special track cycling shoe, developed for the London 2012 Summer Olympics. Jens Machacek developed the internal structure of the shoes over many months, and this work produced the current version of the Winsole. Several gold, silver and bronze medal winners at the London 2012 Summer Olympics and numerous world championship title winners at the world championships used the WINSOLE cycling shoe insole.
