Are Winsole insoles thick?

The Winsole Performance is built as an ultra-thin carbon shell and replaces the stock insole at nearly the same volume. The Customized has a bit more build in the arch and metatarsal area due to genuine orthopaedic construction and integrated cushioning – the toe area stays flat.

Which shoes pair particularly well?

Shoes with medium-to-high volume (Bont, Lake, Specialized, Shimano, Gaerne, Northwave) are unproblematic. For narrow models (Fizik, some Sidi) we recommend reducing the Customized build height – this is taken into account during the foam-impression process.

What if the shoe feels tight after fitting?

First: remove the stock insole – Winsole replaces it, not in addition. Second: open the lacing/Boa by one step and ride in for a few days. Third: if pressure on the instep persists, contact us – we will adjust the Customized.

Do I need to go up a shoe size?

In most cases no. With very tight shoes or narrow lasts, going up half a size can help – this is a general rule for high-quality sports insoles, not specific to Winsole.

Does this also work with triathlon or gravel shoes?

Yes. Triathlon shoes (e.g. Shimano TR9, Fizik Transiro) often have a bit more volume. Gravel and MTB shoes (Specialized Recon, Shimano XC, Bont Riot+) are insole-friendly by design.
